San Francisco – transit

We had a bumpy flight of 15 hours roughly. Weird leaving at lunch time 12.00 pm and arriving at 8.30 am the same day.

The plane was only half full so we had a complete row each to stretch out and I actually slept for about 4 hours! One passenger I was talking with said he had been tempted to upgrade his seating but the flight attendant suggested it wouldn’t be necessary and he was very happy. The staff and service was friendly. Food okay but nothing gluten free. I watched Barbie ,Oppenheimer and Anatomy of a fall.

My empty row!

Anne was suffering with swollen feet and eventually was very uncomfortable . My dread of US immigration proved unnecessary as we cleared immigration with ease and the young man was very civil.

After yet another queue we discovered our connecting flight has been delayed 2 hours and we won’t arrive in Mexico City till 8.30 pm. I found a sunny spot to try and reset our body clocks .

The airport has lots of colourful art displayed on the walls and we have been enjoying exploring the terminal.

Now to stay awake till our next flight!

  1. Hi Kath
What an exciting trip you have ahead.
Intrepid I’ve used several times and always enjoyed them so smart thinking.
It takes a bit of the organization pressure off.
Lucky having “business “ class seating; I’m not a fan of bumps!!
And all our on the list to see movies!
    Enjoy
    xx

  2. Hi Kath and Anne, lovely to hear you are on your way and had a whole row of seats each to stretch out on your flight. I so enjoy your blogs Kath. Have a wonderful time away exploring all that is to be explored. Ian and I have travelled from the south of Vietnam to the north and are currently in Hanoi. Weather grey and drizzling and coolish. Up early again and off to Halong bay for the night. Then back to Hanoi and on to Laos and Cambodia. Love, Leonie

  3. Hope this method of reply works 🤞
So happy to hear that all is going well and I absolutely love the textile work on the sari. The mosaics look a bit hectic and not particularly serene….perhaps they are meant to keep you awake! 😂🤣
Hope your onward journey and arrival will be smooth

    1. Got your comment. I am rusty with the site but nice to know you received the post. Lost an earring already but that was to be expected I guess with all the on and off of back pack and jacket. Not precious fortunately. We have had a nap so feeling brighter.
